    Nothing better for a struggling economy than higher taxes, at least that’s what we voted for.

    Isn’t that how you pay off the debt?

    @Radish

    If you raise taxes enough, don’t cut spending enough, then raise the interest rate, it’s not.

    What we’re going to do is put it down right here and tie a rope around it. then a rope around you and if you slip the the rope and the anvil will keep you from hitting the ground.
    .
    Once you slip, it’s too late!

    Eliminate corporate deductions, and 80% of others, and increase the max by 4% to a whole bloody 39%. It will take in a little more, and cause no damage to anyone making over $250 K per year.

    Repeat after me – we do not have an income problem, we have a SPENDING problem. How can intelligent people not see that? Decrease all spending by 2% across the board every year for X years. No exceptions – everyone feels the pain. Raising taxes is a “feel good” tactic that has never worked in the history of taxation.

    The Bush tax cuts are the reason for the debt.
    The debt was planned by Republicans so they could destroy social programs by saying we can’t afford them.
    There is no mystery here.

    In late December 2010, why did Obama fail to Veto the Bill extending the Bush Tax Cuts passed by the then Democrat Controlled House and Democrat Controlled Senate?

    This proves Obama is a Liar when he tells us he wants to increase Taxes on The Rich for when he had his chance to do so, he didn’t Veto the Bill that would have set the Rich Tax Rate to the Clinton Era Tax Rates he said he wants.

    There were not enough Votes to override his Veto of this stupid bill passed by Democrats.

    Obama is actually a Republican acting like a Democrat

    @Radish – that is a neat scenario, but it’s hard to believe that a group that could not beat O could be capable of such foresight and planning. Given the fact that Bush was labeled as stupid every single day, how could he be smart enough to pull that off? Yes, I know, he was just the puppet.

    Why are Liberals on this board not peeved at Obama for his failure in late December 2010 to rightfully Veto the Bill exttending the Bush Tax Cuts passed by the then Democrat Controlled House and Democrat Controlled Senate?

    This is proof Obama is a liar when he tells us he wants the Rich to pay the same Tax Rate they paid when Clinton was President, for if it were a true statement, in late December 2010 he would have rightfully Vetoed the Bill passed by the Democrat Controlled House and Senate extending the Bush Tax Cuts.

    Liberals cannot see that Obama is exactly like Bush in every step he takes.
