Shouldn’t government be required to spend within their means? Balance a budget like everyone else does? Why is it the government looks at it’s citizens as a endless supply of money? waste, fraud and corruption. in government and industry and the ones that can afford it least end up footing the bill.

If they take in the taxes, including SS payments, Medicare, grazing fees, oil and gas revenues, mineral leasing instead of he 1872 Mining Act, and other sources- and potential sources, and indeed limit outrageous over-spending- like on “defense” that isn’t rationally defensible on a cost/benefit basis, wouldn’t have to borrow.
Wait, balancing spending with “earnings” is a commie plot!

fennec, sure looks like it, in fact it’s a complete rip-off. Although it’s an idea I liked. Must be the first Gorrel I that do like. The actual topic means nothing to me but I can relate.

Just think, this is all because of the last 8 years of Republican irresponsibility.

Um, he credits Escher, right by his signature. Though it’s almost a perfect copy with labels added on the cuffs. Short on time, Mr. Gorrell?

^ Aha, hadn’t noticed! Thanks!

Oh, I could think of a lot of Escher’s prints that would be applicable to our gov’t. Maybe M.C. was ahead of his time in characterizing bureaucracy.

cjr53: I told myself I wouldn’t enter the fray unarmed. Really, all the problems with run away government spending cropped up in the last 8 years because of republicans. Since I don’t know, I’ll ask you when did the US government first start spending “future” revenue and running a deficit?
Who is it that is currently planing to raise the defict 2 TRILLION dollars to 14 trillion?
Bruce4671 said, over 3 years ago
so you can’t say with any certainty that the deficit problem was caused by either party but was and still is perpetuated by both…..
time to put some honest accountants with common sense into office
