Gorrell, you have a lot to learn. The majority of Americans chose hope over fear after eight years of being force fed the latter while middle class way of life disintegrated bit by bit by bit. Americans voted for competency after Katrina, more transparency after WMDs in Iraq, and less of the imperial presidency Bush and Cheney created and executed in secret.

A hoax? No. Is everything honkey dorey? No. This president inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression and he has three years and two months remaining.

Did you create toons about Bush’s many proven hoaxes, BTW?

    Way to go, Gorrell!
Common sense - if Obama were to run for re-election tomorrow, do you believe he would win? I don’t, not for a minute.
He ran on 18 months experience, so he may as well run for re-election now.

    believecommonsense:

Your ranting about the past 8 years is a pure partisan nonsense, but my favored is:

“This president inherited the worst economy since the Great Depression …”

It is a very popular line, for the bigger, deeper and longer the crises, the greater an opportunity to enact more and deeper leftist initiatives. It is no accident that the bulk of the ‘stimulus’ that is remotely capable of creating some jobs is not slated to kick in until later NEXT YEAR.

The reality however is that we are nowhere near the levels of economic maladies of Carter years. Check out the real facts - remember the ‘misery index’? We might however, get there soon, if we continue down the 0bama road.

peter, it’s the economic analysts that have said, repeatedly and virtually unanimously, that this is the worst economy since the Great Depression. It ain’t a liberal talking point.

sclark, I don’t know if he would win an election this November. I don’t know if he will win re-election in 2012 if he runs. I don’t know what his record as President will be.

But there is no doubt in my mind that the desire for a dramatic change from the past eight years is part of the reason he won the election. You two can call that partisanship …. I call it consequences.

” … it’s the economic analysts that have said, repeatedly and virtually unanimously, that this is the worst economy since the Great Depression.”

    Not true!

The experts agree that it was the worst WORLDWIDE FINANCIAL CRISES, since the Great Depression. Which if it were not properly addressed and quickly, might have mushroomed into worse economic conditions.

And, incidentally, it was the quick actions of Bush’s government that in fact averted the disaster.

Of course he only gets the blame for the worldwide financial crises, which is factual nonsense, but than, the guy is so hated by the left that he couldn’t possibly have done anything right. Or did he?

It all depends on which truth you want to believe … the one in front of you or the one in front of you when you are sitting in front of a TV watching Fox.

Meanwhile, this cartoon makes no point except “I hate Obama.” Well, good for you, Gorrell, but that’s not “commentary” or “analysis.” Which means it’s stupid, and that’s not a word I use lightly. Insults without a point are stupid.

tjdestry, Picked up on the anti-Fox News campaign by the administration did you? Obama has 5 networks groveling at his feet and one who dares to tell the truth. Fox News has a larger listener group than all the other cable news groups totaled. Guess that means there are a lot of stupid people in the country, in your mind? The funny thing is Obama and his whiners are never able to find any errors in the Fox reporting. They object to the truth coming out on Acorn, Van Jones, the Mao lover Dunn, etc. How dare anyone questioning the Nobel Prize winner? Obama’s problem is the more he complains and threatens, the more viewers go to Fox to see what is going on. More than half their listeners are now moderate or liberal. Admit it. You liberals are starting to get embarrassed about your president. In that respect, I’m with you. He embarrasses me also.

Oh and for what it’s worth, I don’t think anyone has pointed out that this balloon was NOT a hot air balloon!

“the worst economy since the Depression”

Tell that to the 1930’s men who were waiting in bread lines. Tell that to the 1930’s mothers doing piece-work in cold factories until their fingers bled just to put food on the table.

charliek, thanks, now I don’t have to define the word “since” for charlie555.

tjdestry, you’re absolutely correct. there is no real point to this toon; it’s not about a policy or action, or anything. It simply says voters were stupid to vote for a “hoax.” Gorrell’s “commentary” is the same in virtually every toon. Obama=bad; rabid right=good.

Someone here says this cartoon doesn’t have a point and lacks “commentary”?

    LOL.

I think this ‘toon is a masterpiece. the commentary is so spot-on and the use of the balloon boy incident to lampoon the current administration is the stuff that makes great political cartoons…

Inaney and nomad – you do understand that the SUBSTANCE (if you know what that is) of the piece that got Rather in trouble was accurate… the document was a re-production.

It was true that W bailed on the reserves until that day he decided to play dress-up.
