   The TRUTH is, there will never be Peace as long as all parties believe that THEIRS is the only true god. If we’d stop blaming our desires on the will of imaginary superheros and behaved rationally, perhaps THEN there might be some hope of Peace. (of course, Primates are not, by nature, peaceful rational creatures–explains so much about the human condition, moreso than the god fairytale)

   NO WAR OR GENOCIDE WITHOUT RELIGIOUS PERSONS THAT EITHER HEAR DIRECTLY, FROM GOD, OR CAN ACTUALLY TALK TO GOD.
   Atheists are to busy dodging the arrows from the compassionate, tolerant, DO UNTO OTHERS, hypocritical, forgiving Religious folk, to start a war..

   hear hear. Look at any conflict in the world and invariably it comes down to two things: control of resources and ideology. One is the goal, the other, the motive force.

   It amazes me how many people who follow religious dogma which supposedly place human life as a most fundamental value can so easily kill or maim to protect and promote that dogma. I am dumbfounded that any Christian can fight in any war regardless of justification. Last time I checked, the first words the Christian God wrote to man were “Thou Shalt Not Kill” and I don’t think the ‘fine print’ had been invented yet.

   Thank goodness I found Atheism.

   And thank you, Bob, for a valuable sentiment which transcends faith.

   Happy and Peaceful New Year (according to the Christian and Islamic Calendars) to all, regardless of your faith in God, Science, or Self.
