i guess it is easy to be idealistic when you don’t have the collapsing weight of the free world on your shoulders.

… having ideals is what brought us down out of the trees a while back. No hope of change, even if small, no progress.

I like the fact that Obama has been saying that we are all responsible, that we’ll all need to do something to make the country a better place.

I don’t think anyone expects miracles
although we just witnessed one didn’t we?

How in the heck do you consider Obama becoming president-elect a miracle? Don’t get me wrong I’m extremely proud America has its first black president, even though I didn’t vote for the man. But in all honesty think about it, it was a presidential race after 8 yrs of failed Bush policy …it was his race to lose. And that’s before you even consider the fact that he outspent McCain 4 to 1. I really do hope he can live up to the hype and am ready to see him succeed but my stance is that ideals are only valuable if you can actually produce!

Maybe not a miracle,but a wonderful thing.

TA, Amen! I’m hoping he remembers who elected him, middle-class/moderate people, not radical left wingers. He campaigned to the center. Let’s see if he governs that way. If he does, that would get my vote as a miracle.

I’d like to do away with the word “miracle”. There “ain’t” no such thing. No divine intervention, no walking on water, no loaves and fishes. And why is it that “miracles” are only attributed to something that has a “good” outcome. How about a miracle when something bad happens. Its all nonsense.

Don’t blow a gasket Trogon2, I’m on your side, miracle was a euphemism and not meant as ‘divine intervention’.
