Well, can’t blame the kid for that last sentiment. Perfectly sensible, I would say.

Dear Simpsonfan, you err. Far more people have died in the name of Socialism, just in the 20th century alone. Killed by their own governments, in Germany, Russia, and China. Killed in the name of the “law.”

@ Bruno Zeigerts: You’re too gneiss a guy to hand me that schist. I would expect that from somebody who was a member of a dead-end gangue.

Actually, far more people were killed in WWII than all other wars combined. And that doesn’t even count the 20,000,000 death toll from the atheist Stalin.

That’s true about WW2. However, Stalin didn’t kill all those people on the principle of atheism. In religious wars, people are killed just over their beliefs.

Actually, the fatalities of the Mongol conquests alone very nearly equals the deaths in WWII. WWI acounted for nearly half as many deaths, and so on. Here’s a link that summarizes the sad tally of human conflict. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_wars_and_anthropogenic_disasters_by_death_toll
