30 years later, he’d still be at it, only now he’s posting links to Snopes …

So Reagan didn’t hand over the never developed Star Wars technology to the no-longer in existence Soviet Union.
(Knight Rider was not a kids’ show! Well … practically everything on TV is …)

The Monkees may not have played their own instruments then, but they do now.

To be fair, how many TV shows in the 80s were actually meant for adults? Even action shows like “The A-Team” weren’t allowed to kill anyone. Maybe “Hill Street Blues?” (This is secondhand knowledge, seeing as how I only lived in the 80s for a little over a month.)

Every time I eat a carrot, I’ll think of Michael Binkley. (I eat baby carrots daily.)
Is Berke giving away trade secrets (kinda like if Reagan handed Star Wars to the commie b*st*rds) by admitting that our beloved Opus looks more like a puffin than like a (real-life) penguin?

The TRUTH is that Opus is indeed a true penguin of species “Sphenisciformus Opius”. Puffins are in fact small green creatures, it is just unfortuante that all the puffins pictured are really members of the vast number of DeathTongue fans who have had plastic surgery to more closely resemble their Tuba-wielding particular hero in the band.

    Its twoo, it is!

They played their own instruments on their 3rd album, “Headquarters”, on some of their songs on subsequent albums, and – of course – during all of their concerts.

    @Bruno Zeigerts

The strip was calculating the odds the US Military — not Reagan — would turn the SDI (Star Wars) over to the Russians.

The odds were zero. Star Wars still doesn’t work. We can’t even stop a N. Korea missile.

    This from the AP:

    Published October 25, 2012

    “Associated Press

HONOLULU – The U.S. military intercepted four out of five targets over the Pacific Ocean in the largest and most complex test of the nation’s ballistic missile defense system, the Missile Defense Agency said.

The test at Kwajalein Atoll on Wednesday was designed to demonstrate the system’s ability to defend against a raid of five nearly simultaneous threats, agency spokeswoman Pamela Rogers said.

The targets included one medium-range ballistic missile, two short-range ballistic missiles and two low-flying cruise missiles."

The truth is, you’ll be more likely to find pork chops at a bar mitzvah buffet than getting accurate facts from the media or any public forum.

“It never produced anything that would resemble a workable defense system, it was counterproductive as a bargaining chip, and it did not bring the end of the Cold War any closer. Where it succeeded was in creating the illusion that missile defense is somehow an answer to the security problems of the nuclear world. It is not, although it might take another 30 years for politicians to admit this.”
