Bloom County, a 1980s cartoon-comic strip that dealt with socio-political issues as seen through the eyes of highly exaggerated characters (e.g. Bill the Cat and Opus the Penguin) and humorous analogies.
Creator Berkeley Breathed's first regularly published strip, Academia Waltz, appeared in the Daily Texan in 1978. The strip attracted notice from the editors of the Washington Post who recruited him to do a nationally syndicated strip. On December 8, 1980, Bloom County made its debut and featured some of the characters from Academia Waltz, including former frat-boy Steve Dallas and the paraplegic Vietnam War veteran Cutter John.
Bloom County earned Berkeley the Pulitzer Prize for editorial cartooning in 1987. The strip eventually appeared in over 1,200 newspapers around the world until he retired the daily strip in 1989, stating, "A good comic strip is no more eternal than a ripe melon. The ugly truth is that in most cases, comics age less gracefully than their creators". The comic continues in recirculation on GoComics!

Yet even disgraces such as these pale by comparison to the disgrace known as the Obamanation.

False! There is no proof of a “penguin snoring” in this strip! On the other hand, there is some evidence of a penguin donut addict….

Isn’t the criminal G. Gordon Liddy profiting from his own conservative talk radio show now, and not just occasional appearances on daytime TV? Is this what conservatives mean by law and order?

You’re absolutely correct!

G Gordon Liddy should have never been let out of prison, he’s a menace to society. That whole Plumber’s Gang of Nixon’s tried to destroy our democracy by trying to steal elections, just like the corrupt republicans are doing now with their new electoral college scam in blue states.

I heard Liddy speak at a college shortly after his release from jail, and he was pretty matter-of-fact and low-key about all he did and why he did it. There is nobody so honest as a convicted criminal who has no legal appeal. Then those two leftists published “Silent Coup” – with one chapter and pretty good documentation about the true purpose of the Watergate bugging – and Liddy has since been enraged about the duplicity. He originally thought he was engaged in an honorable, if illegal, bugging of a political opponent; after the book, he realized, in horror, that he was dispatched to check up on the sexual activities of a White House girl-friend. He often states that “John Dean is not worth the cost of the bullet he deserves.” Wonder if anyone will ever make a movie about the real story of Watergate?

Funny comic. Hey, did you hear that Barack Obama is going to be president for the NEXT FOUR YEARS? I can’t wait until he can make his two, maybe three, Supreme Court appointments which will make sure liberal values are the law of the land for DECADES to come! Every single morning I wake up joyful that he is our President, not only because he’s incredible and awesome, but because I know conservatives are going to have another horrible, hate-filled day, soaking in their own bile and choking on their own stupidity. Life is good!

Oh thank you very much for a great comment in response to the ignorant teabagging idiot racists who cant back up their vile internet rumor based, racist inspired complaints with actual facts.
I am going to save and print out your comment to post above my coffee maker and pass it along to all my conservative friends. LOL!!

I wish someone would explain what the problem is. Taxes are way lower than in Nixon’s time, and the criminals are on Wall Street instead of the White House.

Well, Opus turned a personal embarrassment into a benefit. When handed lemons, make…marmalade or something.

LOL, the first to go will probably be RBG, so that one’s a wash. The next two oldest may or may not retire/die before he leaves office, don’t bet on it though. So your pipe dream, enjoy it.
Oh, and speaking of hate, do a little self reflecting there pal, your little diatribe is somewhat hate filled as well. But I understand the hypocrisy you on the left participate in, it’s OK as long as it you or one of your ilk that does it. It’s a different standard for you, you’re “progressive.”
ROTFLMAO
