Mesmerized, hypnotized, sleep-deprived, subjugated. It’s a wonder he can pad to the phone! No wonder Ronco has been such a success!

Back in the 60s, when I was 10 and wrestling was real, every Saturday between matches, I would beg my mom to buy the Vegomatic.” Mom, Bruno Samartino endorses it. He can take anyone with his hands behind his back It sliced, diced, rips and tears. It won’t rust, bust , collect dust, or bend in the middle.. Only $9.95 plus S&H.” She’d hand me a knife. “Get peeling kid”

I did get my Sea Monkeys and X-ray glasses.

I love these strips they such fun. Opus going crazy over a commercial. Things like turnip dawdlers.

On his second album, Weird Al Yankovic had a song called “Mr. Popeil”; looking at this strip and reading the above comments cause me to hear it in my head.

Never saw my parents so angry as when the COD arrived from the ad in the back of the comic book… Don’t even remember what junk it was, but HAD to have it!

I bought one of those slap-chop things that they show on tv. Of course, I got mine in a kitchenware store, and it’s by an actual brand, but the point is I LOVE IT!! Its great having a valid excuse to pound on something after a rough day :-)

I wish they would have referenced those Billy Mays infomercials when ‘Opus’ was being done.

I think the guy in the portrait is Bob Dole.
