Actually, I love the rain. In rain you aren’t subject to the illusion of sharp colors. You only see the endless shades of gray that represent life as it really is.

Rain brings out the best and worst in us.

Especially driving, in SoCal. During ‘dry season’ (most of the year lately), we completely forget how to drive in - er, *on* - the first rain, the one that brings up the soaked-in oil of months, and leaves us sliding uncontrollably along the freeway until we meet the slower traffic ahead…

We just had our first winter storm of the season her in Northern Colorado.
Nothing much, just about 3 inches.
People here apparently forget how to drive in snow every year, too, lots of fender benders.

Doctor Toon: same winter storm that gave you 3 inches gave us a thin (1/16th or less) layer of ice here in Southern Colorado. I got up to go to breakfast (one of my weekend rituals), encountered the ice in my driveway, turned around in the cul de sac and stayed home…..precisely because people don’t remember how to drive on the slick stuff during their first encounter in fall/winter

Still waiting for the sun to burn off the ice fog this AM…..

Maybe Opus could use a sheet of Saran Wrap (with two holes) to keep his schnozz dry. Or maybe just an umbrella.

When we get that much in south Louisiana, they close the interstates.

Who’s that covering up their very large snout?
It’s Opus the Penguin, there is no doubt
He is the one who has been left in charge
Of the shoes he wears, the size of a barge
But what Opus does is what Opus is all about.
