If a tree falls on the ground, does it make a sound (Rhetorical question)?

Ents don’t do anything very fast. They’re probably just mulling over their response.

Last month in one of the heaviest rain storms we have had this year our 40’ yellow chain weeping willow fell across our driveway sometime in the middle of the night. No one in the house heard it. I planted that tree from a tiny 2’ tall sapling. Man, I cried but then the neighbor came over to tell us he was out of a job and had no heat in his home for his family. So he and his 12 yr old son cut it up and hauled it away. At least the tree helped someone keep warm.
