Now THAT would be a fun game to play, although the playlist would be a little limited. Paint it Black by the Rolling Stones is the first song that came to mind. After that, I haven’t a clue.

A long list of bands had sitar on recordings..l. The Beatles, The Moody Blues, The Mammas and the Papas, Donovan, Jethro Tull, etc.

George Harrison played sitar. Learned from Shankar, of course; but “Norwegian Wood” is the song credited with introducing the sitar to the Western world. It’s said that Harrison was so nervous to be playing the sitar on a recording for the first time that the sitar part was overdubbed onto the recording. I play nose sitar myself. Works real good whenever “Norwegian Wood” or “Paint It Black” shows up on the radio (or, in the former case, in my playlist).
