If not for all the moms throwing out your stuff, that Superman #1 would be so common it would go for $20 or so.

She’s already sold them on e-bay to finance a condo in Miami.

My husband went into the Navy and his mom threw out the shoebox with the baseball cards and the stack of comics. Don’t we all know someone that this has happened to?

So when she retired to the home, we threw out all the pictures from her childhood.

Are you kidding?A #1 Action Comics with Superman from 1938 was sold at an auction for more than $1,000,000. I still have quite a few old comics, including the very first series of “Elf Quest” from 1986,all wrapped up & sealed with no damage and have been offered $1,000 for them!If you find old comics I highly suggest you take them to a comics store & have them appraised. You’d be surprised how much they might be worth.

You’re missing the point of simpsonfan2’s comment. What he means is, the reason they are so rare and valuable is most of them were thrown out by mothers. If mothers had NOT done that, copies would be everywhere, and would not be worth millions, was his point. Good advice on appraisal, though. My best include a Sandman #8 NM, and a complete set of the original 12 Watchmen.

My friend’s mother threw out his original Star Wars movie poster while he was overseas. This is unforgivable.

My mother threw out some ratty old books way back when I went away to college. Including an autographed first edition of “The Hobbit”.
