    I HAD to look it up. STILL don’t quite get it
    First I looked up[ the word then…
    1 city W California ESE of Oakland population 29,973 2 city central Ohio, a suburb of Columbus population 31,392 3 county E Ireland in Leinster area 356 square miles (926 square kilometers), population 1,122,821 4 city & port ∗ of Ireland (republic) & of County Dublin at mouth of the Liffey on Dublin Bay (inlet of Irish Sea) population 495,781

    Wikipedia had… Joyce’s writing in Dubliners is neutral; he rarely uses hyperbole or emotive language, relying on simplistic language and close detail to create a realistic setting. This ties the reader’s understanding of people to their environments. He does not tell the reader what to think…
    Looked at the comic more saw the worms are eating paper. Which by the way is “their” Job guess they don’t like what their eating:}

    Yeah, I think the joke is that “Dubliners” is dense James Joyce prose and the worms are tired of trying to digest it.

    You can read the stories for yourself at http://www.gutenberg.org/files/2814/2814-h/2814-h.htm

    I like the worms, though. Looks like the hero from “Diary of a Worm” (also by Bliss).

    Think the complaining worm is nowt but a mere lad who doesn’t want to eat anything but McTrash–Bad Imitation Tolkien, perchance– instead of the fine dinner his parents have prepared.
