This high-flying single-panel comic spotlights and savors the foibles, stupidity, and goofiness of our colorful unnatural world. It's all about attitude, as the denizens of Bluemel's realm devote themselves to surviving life's pitfalls, whether nesting in quicksand or coping with the technological advances of the tapeworm. From word play to fowl play, from weirdness in the wilderness, to the irony of iron ore, Birdbrains makes the offbeat seem natural. It's a feature to laugh at: if it makes you think, you're working too hard.

Judging by the melted snow, lighter and gasoline can, I would say the penguin is a fire marshal. He’s investigating a case of arson.

And if you listen closely, you can hear the duck quacking in the wolf’s belly. What wolf? Why the one just above the lighter.
Yes, somehow I thought of Prokofiev.

Faces in Mr. Mukluk’s hands, and one in the shading of that pointy hill above the penguin’s head

I saw faces on the left sides of the four cubes of half-melty snow between the two.

That cop looks rather formal. I mean, how many cops wear a tuxedo to work?

How did that penguin get up north? Did he swim all the way from the south pole, or did Mr. Mukluk sail down to the south pole. Or should I say, did he motor down there?
Lots of gas cans under the snow. I think I see Daffy duck there somewhere too.
