This high-flying single-panel comic spotlights and savors the foibles, stupidity, and goofiness of our colorful unnatural world. It's all about attitude, as the denizens of Bluemel's realm devote themselves to surviving life's pitfalls, whether nesting in quicksand or coping with the technological advances of the tapeworm. From word play to fowl play, from weirdness in the wilderness, to the irony of iron ore, Birdbrains makes the offbeat seem natural. It's a feature to laugh at: if it makes you think, you're working too hard.

That would be just great, to be a victim of identity theft and have the thief die first in your name…

“What do you mean these’s a William Jones here?! I AM William Jones!” Afterlife identity theft…. He should have gotten Afterlifelock.

Tonytiger, you should patent that “afterlifelock”; talk about a guaranteed market!!

notice the barbwire on top of the walls and the locked gate…the guard towers with machine guns must be out of view…
now, are those precautions to keep people out….or in?

Maybe the identification He needs to have seen is his baptismal record (John 3:5). Or maybe He already checked his baptismal record, but wanted the I.D. just to make sure it’s really him (like you do when buying something at a store by credit card).

Happened to a guy I knew. Not “identity theft” in the modern sense, but just plain old theft. Frank was hitchhiking home from the Navy in 1961 and his duffle bag was stolen. He went on and lived his life, no repercussions, until 20-some years later when he had a heart attack and ended up in my (Veterans Hospital) emergency room. The VA database indicate that Frank F. had been dead since the early 1960s! Seems duffle bag thief had been found dead w/ Frank’s ID, and indeed buried under his name.
It took about 3 or 4 days to straighten out the mix-up – so meanwhile Frank was in CCU and every time I’d go to register his Xrays the computer would flag me “Patient has died. Do you want to continue?” Lotsa fun – fortunately, everyone was told about the situation and that the “Dead Guy” in Coronary Care did indeed need daily Xrays, bloodwork, meals, etc……
Finally Frank was able to be restored to “Life” as far as the VA database was concerned – and died under his own name some years later – but duffle bag thief never was identified as far as I know.

actually, I think the guy is getting “ID” (identity) mixed up with “I.D.” (Intelligent design)
