This high-flying single-panel comic spotlights and savors the foibles, stupidity, and goofiness of our colorful unnatural world. It's all about attitude, as the denizens of Bluemel's realm devote themselves to surviving life's pitfalls, whether nesting in quicksand or coping with the technological advances of the tapeworm. From word play to fowl play, from weirdness in the wilderness, to the irony of iron ore, Birdbrains makes the offbeat seem natural. It's a feature to laugh at: if it makes you think, you're working too hard.

Careful, Thom - the Academy Awards people go INSANE if someone writes “Oscar” without the little “registered trademark” sign. Bad as the Olympics people about the word “Olympics” (do them next).

Why not make “pun” of the Oscars? They’ve become a bit of a joke over the years anyway. The question is who are the three faces here? The closest reminds me of E.G. Marshall (12 Angry Men among others) The middle looks like Charlton Heston, but who’s the bearded guy in the back??

So THAT’S where those trophies at the Academy Awards ceremonies come from!

I don’t know about Brando, maybe, it looks more like a beard than a fat face though. Thom, could you clear this up?????

I’m sorry, folks, these are all actors from Easter Island. They all got the Oscar for foreign film categories where they could only be understood in subtitles. As I understand it, they are all from an ancient Polynesian tribe known as the Hasbeens. I hope that clears up any confusion… :)
I love the comments, you all! Thanks!!
