Teen Spirit is a song by Nirvana, a grunge band, that had Kurt Cobain as lead singer till he killed himself.

You are correct. Nirvana lives in Nate’s mind, I guess.

Teddy Fact: He believes that whoever laughs last laughs best. this is obvious in the strip, unlike NATE.

Got a Teddy fact for me? Go to Big Nate strip January 1, 1997 and comment 2Teddy:, then put your fact.

Nirvana’s “Smells Like Teen Spirit” is a classic, but it’ was a hit 21 years ago. It’s as old now as The Doors’ “Riders On The Storm” was in 1991.

(And the Beatles’ “I Am the Walrus” is as old now as Al Jolson’s “Give Me My Mammy” was in 1967…)
