look at matts face in the strip and how his emotions change from stoaked to surprised to angry / worried to in the final an expression like hes thinking " what an idiot " about nate . poor kid he must be crushed . i feel bad for all 3 characters in this very funny story matt nate and poor anna . one of the things this comic strip does well is makes sad emotions funny . this is a difficult thing to pull off . Peanuts also did it well

not for him . if matts anything like me he would of spent an hour working himself up about it . finally he would go up to her turn into a nervous wreck start spouting gibbirish and find the nearest exit . i assume he chose nate for a reason. nate has no problem talking to girls its just the girls have a problem with it
