Aspiring cartoonist Nate Wright is the star of Big Nate, the daily and Sunday comic strip distributed by NEA since 1991. Nate is 11 years old, four-and-a-half feet tall, and the all-time record holder for detentions in school history. He's a self-described genius and sixth grade Renaissance Man. Nate, who lives with his dad and older sister, enjoys pestering his family and teachers with his sarcasm.

No, it’s an unofficial match, so if they wanted time limit, then yes, it’d end in about 4 minutes. There’s no clocks, but if Gina wanted Ken to, then yeah, like I said, it’d end. But this goes on and on, but Nate’s hanging on!

This story is tiresome. Chess is one of Nate’s strenghts. I’m tired of Gina always besting him. I hope the author let’s Nate have some dignity and lets him defeat Gina. Nate can’t lose at everything, and Gina needs to realize that she’s capable of failure.

Nate is in trouble. He made the mistake of letting an unknown (in skill) player intimidate him and throw his game off. If he had used a less than common opening with speed and confidence, he probably would have humiliated Gina for once.
