Aspiring cartoonist Nate Wright is the star of Big Nate, the daily and Sunday comic strip distributed by NEA since 1991. Nate is 11 years old, four-and-a-half feet tall, and the all-time record holder for detentions in school history. He's a self-described genius and sixth grade Renaissance Man. Nate, who lives with his dad and older sister, enjoys pestering his family and teachers with his sarcasm.

I think Nate might be overweight. I’m almost 11, 4’ 8’’, and weigh 85 pounds. 87 pounds and only 4’ 6" is a lot.

Nate is going to win as he always does in these competitions. Like the chess tournament in 2002 and the soccer game in 2010 sigh

No, Nate’s not 92 pounds. That was only a temporary condition brought on by his overindulgence in carnival food.

Nate’ll pull a “Tanglefoot” like Gary Cooper in Pride of the Yankees. Lou Gherig stepped on a bunch of bats and fell on his keister.
