Wait? War of 1812? Well, if it’s a real war, then they’ll have to study all about the war.

It’s a real war. I love the 1812 overture.

Which war of 1812?
Strod said, about 1 year ago
@Feed Me Comics!
There were several wars going on in 1812 both in Europe and in the Americas. By several I mean almost ten different wars. Two of those started on 1812 and are known as “the war of 1812”.
The most important of those two from the World’s point of view was the French invasion of Russia, aka the Patriotic War of 1812. That’s the one referenced in Tchaikovsky’s 1812 Overture.
But being from the US, Teddy most certainly refers to the Anglo-American War of 1812, in which the British troops attempted to invade the USA through different points, getting to even occupy briefly and burn parts of Washington DC. A battle from that war is the one referenced in The Star-Spangled Banner, the national anthem of the USA.

My wife kept trying to get me to write a romance novel for the money. I finally told her that if I did, that it would be illustrated by Dave Berg (Lighter Side of Love in Mad).
