I just realized they are in Canada, by the way they are holding the knife and fork!

Yes. Or maybe Australia. That way of holding a knife and fork seems to be a trademark of the British Empire.

Never had to deal with lock downs when I was in school thankfully. Although they do seem to happen here in Florida quite a bit…

Bub worked for the city of Edmonton, until there were layoffs. He found work quickly though, being in a province with a relatively decent economy.

Doesn’t everyone hold their knife and fork like that?

In England we hold our hands over the knife and fork, in order to control the downward pressure more easily. The prongs of the fork and the sharp edge of the knife work together better that way…!

I see nothing wrong in the way they are holding their weapons. How else do you control the food on your plate while continuing to eat and blocking annoying hands with your knife. … (why is it at banquets – the people still waiting to get to the buffet line think its ok to go after the food on your plate?…. I know several that were lucky to keep their fingers)

Betty and her family eat with knife and fork like we do in Germany… did not notice this because it was so familiar to me. But it is really interesting that there are different ways to eat with knives and forks.
