Our Greatroom used to be a daycare center. We pulled hundreds of staples, nails and tacks out of the walls, repaired dozens of holes and stripped the floor down to the sub-flooring. Even put it back together. Don’t ask about the garage…
You should see my Dad`s garden shed. He started with a shed kit from Rona.Put in a proper cement base (with the whole leveling, gravel & sand thingie) and added a small window and power for the lights. He has shelves and pull out drawers and a pegboard to hang the rakes, shovels and other tools. . So Bud better get going on his basement. At least finish the walls and organize the tool bench area.
the floor is clean enough to play roller hockey. There is not much that can be broken. You have an old comfortable chair. And a place to store gear? wow. I wish my garage was that finished! Women, please this is a dream man cave!
I think it’s fantastic, especially the soft comfy chair and the headphones. It’s not dirty or cluttered. Leave it alone woman it doesn’t need ruffled pillows.

If the rest of your house is big enough for everything you want to do, having an unfinished basement that you can store stuff in can be awesome.

No basements (mostly) in Southeast Virginia either. Dig down very far and you’re likely to hit water.
