Okay, I don’t feel like doing the necessary figuring … height of the seat of the average chair, average woman’s height, etc. … but if she did manage a pull-up, would she have hit her head?
Probably. Depends upon how high the floor joists are. 2×8, she might have a problem. 2×10 makes a stronger floor; but hardly anyone uses 2×10s any more because of the cost.
I couldn’t do a pull up at 17 years of age, or do a mile in the required time limit. And that was with training. … But then we weren’t required to do pull ups. Only be able to hold our body weight at eye level for a required length of time. That we could do – it just took a hatred for the Phy Ed teacher.

Not everyone has great upper arm strength. Doesn’t mean they’re old or out of shape.
