IF you wish to continue this dialogue, do NOT let Betty utter one word, because one is all it would take – Alix = that one word…

You have to start with one first.

I know Betty has the right to be bitter, and it is tough to find a new job, but her losing that job really was nothing personal.
.
Living well is the best revenge, and she landed at a very sweet (albeit) temporary gig. It doesn’t even look like her former CEO even recognized her. Alex did, but not the CEO.

Now it gets really interesting. Betty’s new boss already knew that she knew Alix, and now he is asking very leading, and pointed questions. I have a feeling he is setting up the old boss for a huge fall.

That would be wonderful. It would be so nice to see the jerks get what they truly deserve. That’s the problem with Karma, you rarely get to witness the fallout.

@dotweasl You’re a Republican, aren’t you? Aside from the “right to be bitter” line, I can imagine Romney saying everything else.

I think Betty is smart enough to put her bitterness aside and do what’s best in the situation whatever that may be.

At least they’re not fighting yet.

Would love to see Betty fly over the table “Dukes of Hazzard” style

I think you’re right. It appears to be leading questions. …. It all depends on how the CEO (or Alex) react.
.
what I find amazing is how just a change in the angle of the jaw for the CEO makes a huge diff in her expression. I don’t think would have noticed as much if I read this in the paper. (which I did over breakfast and didn`t notice)

Are you in the habit of labeling people just because of what they say? A point of view is nothing more than a point of view. It doesn’t determine one’s politics. And I’m sick of politics.

They can honestly answer “yes.”. CEO and VP are employees, right? Of course, anybody below that level are not seen as people, but as “human resources” of the company. So they are free to do with them what they will.
