Wow her “friend” is not looking good these days. Unless she’s playing double-agent and has plans to help her.

Alex has always had a certain air of entitlement I wasn’t fond of… but she’s come through before so I’m still trying to reserve judgement.

Meanwhile — Hunter and JoPhan ….
ThinkFree came on my phone, and probably Hunter’s.

Nook is essentially an e-Reader, not a full-featured out-of-the-gate tablet, so you probably have to buy an app…..
But I’ve heard there’s one for around $7 that does way more than our free software.

Even so, my advice is you have to play with everything to find the features.
Took me a while to realise that in ThinkFree, one of my virtual phone buttons lets me open a menu…

“Edit” on that menu opens another menu…which scrolls horizontally revealing more.

Clicking on the “text” icon there opens another row of formatting icons… like B, I and color.

    Like I said… learning curve.
But it’s all there if you look.

And Hunter, my curve was backwards…
I never texted with thumbs on a number pad, so I don’t use them now.

I "Swype* with just my right index finger… takes practice but now it’s SO much faster than tapping miniature keys.
Just long press and set your input to Swype, if your phone has it…
Read all the tips that pop up and you’ll discover layers of keyboards… and multiple functions on each key.

Since Alex bailed on having lunch with her (two weeks ago in comics time), Betty is probably feeling a little murderous.

Anger can really fire one’s inspriation. I took a short story writing class once, and part of the course was to submit our story and have other classmates crtique it. it was meant to be a friendly thing, but the “b with an itch” who critiqued mine didn’t just gently criticize but trashed it completely. At first I was humiliated and inclined to quit the course, but as anger set in, I rewrote with a vengeance. The result, according to my teacher, was something just 1 rewrite away from publication. I haven’t got around to that…yet. Guess I gotta get angry again…

It depends on which Nook you’re talking about. I have teh Tablet, which is fairly full featured. I’ve found a complete office suite for about $7 or so, but I’ve not had time to get my Nook to a hot spot and download it. Still, thanx for the pointer as it will make the Nook much more useful.

Thanks for the info. And yes. My phone came with a number of pre-installed features. So will just have to go play. (I recently used the onboard teaching feature – it was cool and helpful)
    .
As to texting… I like to keep one hand free to actually do other stuff, so I don’t use landscape and I only use the one thumb.
