The Berger and Wyse food cartoons are a diet of neurotic vegetables, omnivorous Godzillas and restaurant parody. This single-panel comic appears weekly in the Guardian (UK), and has been published as an anthology by Absolute Press (an imprint of Bloomsbury). There are some recurring themes and characters, but stylistically this cartoon is free to roam to wherever food plays a part. What do tomatoes think of Andy Warhol? Is it upsetting to fruit that "bananas" means crazy? Can you eat Schrödingers cat food? Someone has to answer these burning questions.

Refusing to eat liver because of the cruelty of foie gras doesn’t work either.

Looks like she ate more of it than the big girl did.

Another made up “allergy”…
--Sorry to disagree, pcolli, but Celiac Disease is not made-up. It’s an autoimmune disease that causes extremely serious physical problems that people can die from. My husband has it. And his Dad died from it.

She’s allergic to gluten.

@T_Lexi
She never mentioned Coeliac Disease. You won’t find Crust Intolerance in any medical book.

@LingeeWhiz
See above. She’s eaten the rest of the sandwich.

Intolerance is learned at an early age.

Take it easy. She ate the rest of the sandwich. It’s a joke. And Celiac Disease isn’t an allergy, so pcolli isn’t talking about that anyway.

For those with a true medical issue Gluten Free is a necessity, for all too many people it is an overpriced fad
I work in the grocery business and I’m stunned at all the new products coming out touting themselves as Gluten Free, and even more stunned at the prices
Believe me the marketing geniuses aren’t bringing out all these products for the relative minority of people who truly need them, their interest is solely in cashing in on gullibility with the latest “health craze”

@Doctor Toon
All too true.
