And the Repubs here complain about anti government anarchist Tea Party groups being told to obey the law that requires reporting of political donations. Surprise, they don’t any more, the IRS will never even look at another political application, just rubber stamp them. After all in TP LAND, ignorant voters are the very best voters!

Republicans want to control the vote so they can keep their own thieves in office.

We don’t vote, we don’t live in a democracy. Don’t sit home in November.

Unless you’re in the Tea Party. Then you can really show Obama who’s boss by not voting.

Nah. Voter suppression is just another myth, like global warming and the war on the middle class and the war on women.

It’s not something real, like Job Creators or Iraq’s nucular program. And free Obamaphones.

Unfortunately, voter apathy is rampant. Maybe the US should have voters ink their fingers as in countries given a vote for the first time.
Nah…wouldn’t work…folks would find a way of cheating.

Do your homework and find out who is working for you. If your rep is voting for the Middle Class, keep him, otherwise try the other party’s candidate. Keep at it until you find one who will actually vote for the Middle Class. If enough people did that, eventually there would be no selling out to the rich folks, because they would know it would mean they were getting voted out next election……………………………………………………The only thing that is going to save the Middle Class is the Middle Class. We are the 99%—- that means we have the votes to elect people who will actually represent middle class workers and provide a safety net for those who are trying to get into the middle class………………………………………………………..We all need to know who is supporting the candidates. That is who they will be working for. They have no choice if they want to stay in office. You have to do the bidding of whoever is paying your way, just the same as we all do in our jobs. So, before going to vote, look it up on the internet. Open Secrets is a good site, but there are plenty……………………………………………If the candidate is getting their money from small donors or from unions, they are going to be working for middle class working people. If their donations are from corporations or from 1%ers, that’s who their votes are going to be working for. They are not going to go against them and do anything to help the middle class………………………………………………………

The cartoon is based on an actual Abbot-ordered SWAT-team raid on a get out the vote organization in a trending-Democratic neighborhood, confiscating all their computers and records, to force them out of business (and possibly take action against any supporters).
The parenthetical is definitely involved in the case of Texans for Public Justice. This group, not the Travis County DA, was the ones who wrought the case against Perry – which brought his indictment by a Republican prosecutor under a Republican judge. This is the same group who brought down Tom DeLay, suffering an immediate IRS audit for their work. Now foundation money to TPJ has dried up from those fearing similar action against them. Attorney General John Cornyn (now US senator) ordered a similar raid on TPJ to get records on their supporters, even though they were merely cited in another group’s action against Cornyn. Going back in time, there was the ’60s IRS action against the Sierra Club for spending 2% of their budget to prevent the flooding of the Grand Canyon National Monument and Park. Yet, the corporate media only reports IRS action against Republican corruption to give the impression that it is all one-sided against the GOP.

What do you suggest when both parties are squarely in the 1%ers camp.

“terrible idea stopping non citizens and dead people from voting”
Absolutely. That’s why you close polling places in minority neighborhoods and shorten voting hours. It keeps, you know, those people from voting.
