That’s because it’s going to take a lot of money to convince people that they should let him be — well, at least the Republican nominee for president. No doubt he’d get a lot of support from the Democrats for that.

The actions of “that woman” when arrested do not justify the de-funding of the people who work in her department, nor does it justify the stoppage of work that will result when no one gets paid.

Put another way: if your boss was filmed being an idiot, does this justify the company choosing not to pay you for your work?

Also, “Perry is a jerk” is not really a defense of an abuse of legal process that has been broadly condemned by legal scholars.

You obviously know nothing about business. If my boss was filmed being an idiot, he/she would be immediately fired by the company and replaced.

I think you misunderstood my post. I said nothing about the boss being fired. I said that you should not be penalized because your boss did something that was egregious enough to cause his being fired.

And I would like to apologize for my post last night; what I said was heartfelt and honest, but it was off the subject of your question, and I had no business going there. I hope to have learned from it.

We’ve had a number of spirited discussions in the past, and I hope we continue to do so in the future.
    .
And yes, I understand your point about employees being penalized due to the actions of their boss. Unfortunately, at least in my opinion, government does not function as well as private industry in dealing with these types of issues.

No, if it were Obama instead of one guy investigating it would be the IRS ready to raise hell on anyone critical of our Führer.

Wow. What a vivid imagination. I’m only surprised you didn’t somehow spin golf, muslims, or Benghazi into that weird twist of logic.

Golf – it’s the NEW Benghazi!
