Actually for once I agree with him. These open carry idiots are reversing every gun freedom we have gained back in recent years. Look at the businesses that now prohibit any kind of carrying on their premises. Basically The Republic of Texas movement renamed itself Open Carry Texas – same morons. BTW I am a life member of NRA & TSRA and do not support these open carry people.

DETROIT, MI, 5/30/14: A Detroit music store owner fired his gun Friday when he thought someone inside the store was up to no good, Detroit police said. His gunshot missed that person, went through the store window and struck a man outside in the head. This shooting originally was reported as a botched robbery in which the owner fired at intruders. However, upon further review, Detroit police say the story has changed. The man who was an apparent bystander was in critical condition but later died at the hospital. The store owner is being questioned by police. Detectives told Local 4 the man inside the store ducked and the bullet missed him, came out the front window, striking a man standing in front of the store in the head. It’s not clear what the person inside was up to. UPDATE: Authorities have identified a 16-year-old bystander shot to death on a Detroit street after the owner of a music store fired a gun at a suspected robber. The Wayne County medical examiner’s office says Senghore Ball was shot in the head. The store owner has a valid concealed pistol license. The Detroit Free Press reports he was arrested Friday but later released pending the issuance of a warrant.

So much for the NRA’s “Armed Citizen”, Tigger.

That was a tragedy, unlike (according to the Cato institute) the thousands of crimes that are prevented by law abiding gun owner, then again I guess the criminals rights are violated when he can’t murder/rob and rape…

What do you do for High Testosterone? I could take a guess. Sex and 3 nights or more a week at the shooting range?

echoraven: I used to read the guys’ at work copies of the NRA publications with the “Armed Citizen” column, the majority of those “citizens” with wild shots fired, far outnumbered the sane and appropriate use of firearms for self defense. Yes, I’m a gun owner, and have experience in law enforcement. Also with decades patrolling the public lands, the IRresponsible gun owners outnumber the responsible ones by at very best effort to apologize, a ratio of about 2,000 (okay, start at only 1,000 if you like) insane ones for every sane one.

“Armed citizen” accounts with a few clippings and no statistics to back them up, versus NRA sponsored laws to ban the collection of such statistics and opposition to a Surgeon General nominee who believes that massive deaths are a public health issue.

The traditional rules for civilized discussion requires both sides to state what it would take to concede error. Mine is that you can produce valid statistics rather than rumor to back your position. All we have in that department are the valid statistics from countries that do collect them versus the huge death toll in those that don’t collect. E.g.: the rate of firearm deaths in culturally similar Canada (which just took a major jump in the recent “mass shooting” of three) versus that of the US, which has had two such events in the two days since the isolated Canadian one. Now what would it take for you to concede error?

Yes, I’m well aware you don’t like the Harvard study conducted by criminologists, but you do like the conclusion that violence is caused by income inequality pushed by Harvard Socialists.

Here’s an idea… why don’t you go back to your previous policy of not reading my posts. Thanks.
