Hopefully those massive doses of TEA ignorance will lead to the extinction of at least the most radical, and stupid, of the elephant herd, and the sooner the better, for the U.S., and the world.

Before the elections in 1980, Reagan ran a series of advertisments ridiculing Carter for his energy-saving initiatives, and having the temerity to advise us not to consume too much (HERESY!!) “We are the greatest country ever, with abundant resources, and I don’t think we should do without!” he said. Upon moving into the White House, the first thing he did was to have removed the solar panels which Carter had installed. Apparently, those panels insulted his financial supporters.

Man doesn’t cause climate change but does cause the tremendous acceleration of climate change.

ODon, that is the best statement on the subject I’ve heard yet!

I have actually heard Evangelical Conservatives claim “America has PLENTY of Oil. God replaces it just as fast as we burn it, so we will NEVER run out!”
    Seriously.

Please quit making false and illogical assertions. Who would be making this lie? The thousands of scientists who are sharing their data openly that demonstrates the truth of human-caused global warming? I think not. You insult a lot of principled people with your blithe and fact-free assertion.

That is sort of like Bill O’Reilly’s belief that God makes the tide go in and out.

Maybe all those extra billions and billions of tons of CO2 in the atmosphere are a lie too.

Climate change denial is the opposite of religion. People believe in God without a speck of evidence for his existence because they WANT to believe while climate change deniers with a mountain of evidence under their noses don’t believe because they DON’T WANT to believe.

As right-wing bloviator Charles Krauthammer put it so succinctly, “Numbers don’t impress me. Consensus doesn’t impress me.” In other words, proof of human-caused climate change cannot overcome my bone-headed willful ignorance. The problem is not the data (which is incontrovertible), the problem is that the solution involves putting a price on carbon. The cartoon is excellent.
