Everything about the mid-east is convoluted. Trying to straight line it would be disastrous.

But but Obama was to be the greatest because he loved the sound of morning pray. Berry Seotro was to unite us with them because he lived among them. he understands them. that is why he went upstairs on 9 11 12, when the Arab spring was turning to fall and they were chanting “Obama we are Osama” But “what difference does it make now” ? Obama got reelected with Bin is dead and GM unions are alive, no lame stream dare say say other wise.

Well you know G W Bush managed to get you know 51 countries behind him, Obama has France though. France is willing to follow the winding road.

Have you ever been overseas or read anything from public opinion overseas? Nobody respected W outside the USA.

Let’s see: Bush invaded and occupied one nation in the Middle East: Iraq. That cut down on terrorism (not necessarily al Queida terrorism but in general) worldwide as Saddam could no longer fund them as he had been.
That state was made somewhat safer than it was too.

Obama on the other hand has seen Iraq backslide into less stability. Egypt collapse into a internal revolution and civil war. Libya collapse into a civil war and a more theocratic less stable government resulted.
Syria is in civil war. Iran is on the verge of obtaining nuclear weapons and Obama is doing nothing about that.
Obama also has the worst public opinion of any US President in Israel.
Stability in other states such as Yemen, Oman, Bahrain, and the UAE have decreased.
Al Queida is on the rise throughout the region.

On the whole, Obama has made a bad failure out of Middle East policy; far worse than anything Bush did.

Oh, civil trials of foreign terrorists? Disasterous failure.
    Guantanamo: Still open.
Terrorist attacks on US soil: Several now, some successful, some unsuccessful.

Obama is the ultimate slacker and one of the worst Presidents in US history.

Maybe after being badly burned while being lied to by the U.S. last time, where the ‘facts were fixed to fit the policy’, maybe they are not so eager to participate this time.

The US still has a military that is greater than all the rest of the world’s militaries put together.

Read The Fat Years, a novel set in the far future (2013) when the dollar is worth less than the yen and the yuan is the world’s key currency. China owns Starbucks, which serves oolong latte instead of coffee. But a Chinese leader says the one thing the new superpower China cannot do is challenge the US, which could utterly destroy China, even after total economic collapse.

^^ Not that Bush could quite cope with the complexity of that adage.

    @Enoki

Bush, jr proved that Saddam was entirely responsible for 9/11/‘01. And, after Bush, jr destroyed Iraq, it was far, far better than before. Just don’t ask any Iraqis. The US pundits will tell you Iraq is now a paradise. A paradise most of the occupants are trying desperately to get out of.

I’m not saying Obama is a great president, I’m saying he’s not that different from Bush, jr.

And those who say, Bush, jr was terrible but Obama is GREAT! and those who say Bush, jr was GREAT! but Obama is terrible, are like those saying, ‘That guy looks great/terrible, but who is that monster/handsome guy in that piece of silvered glass that’s right in front of him?’

Why did you leave out Bush’s invasion of Afghanistan, America’s longest war?

I say neither Michael. Obama however is a very poor President. His domestic policies are as bad or worse than his foreign policy. He has accomplished nothing of significance in his five years in office.

Yes, you probably could point to Obamacare but that is proving to be a disaster too. Outside that he has done nothing of note.
