    Being black isn’t a criminal offense, but it is a proof for conviction.

    Since when is a vigilante running around a neighbourhood with an armed weapon LET OFF because HE felt “threatened”?
    IF Treyvon fought with him, maybe it’s because Treyvon felt threatened too, no? Or maybe it’s just the word of the one who’s still alive…

    What about the guy who was stopped for in his car and was charged with a D.U.I. AFTER blowing a 0.00 on a Breathalyzer in Arizona?
    Apparently his ONLY offense was D.W.B.!

    The “problem” with Arapaio, and the Arizona law, is the simple fact my friends, who’s families lived in “Arizona” for a couple hundred years BEFORE Arizona became a state, have been stopped on “suspicion” of being illegal aliens. I also have friends in California who have the same problem, some who still honor their “Mexican” traditions, though being fourth or more generations born and raised in “California”.

    Profiling based on behaviors isn’t a problem, but based on skin color, or dress (like a yarmulke for instance?) is not.

    Seems like just a few years ago a candidate was elected President and was pestered on a daily basis to prove his citizenship.

    Two firsts:
    a black President,
    a President not accepted as all before him were.

    @Tigger

    Yes while they were campaigning for the nomination it was brought it up and soon dropped, That in no way gives carte blanc for it to be hammered on for the next few years by the right. Again with Obama we have two firsts for an elected U.S. President. All the talk about our Presidents citizenship comes from the ridiculous part of the right.

    Just a note on “citizenship”. Dick Cheney gave up his Texas citizenship, and homestead exemption just before joining Bush on the ticket, and going back to Wyoming.. That Constitution saying the President and Vice can’t be from the same state.

    dtroutma: Or idiots who can’t tell the wrap-around Arab/Seminole/etc. turban from the carefully pleated Sikh one.

    tigger: one last time, “Hispanic” has NOTHING TO DO WITH A RACIAL IDENTITY, and for that matter, Castilians, actual “Hispanics” from the core, are Caucasian!
