Tired of "politically correct?" Want an editorial cartoon that is quick to call out the bumblings of U.S. politics and cuts slack to no one? Pulitzer-Prize winner Ben Sargent is paying attention and making Washington have second thoughts about that little thing called the First Amendment.

Ok what slush fund exactly is Sargent talking about? The Surplus that will be used for water & and infrastructure. Perry is Govenor of the State that has the best business record eight years running and guys like Sargent can’t stand his success. That comment about Perry barley making a fart shows how backward and crude the Govenor of California is.
Sargent thinks that is horrible but 9 out of 10 Texans thinks its great. Sargent says a profit is bad Perry thinks otherwise. I think I will stick with Perry over someone like Sargent.

Obviously the cartoon is grossly exaggerated. There must be something to it though because there sure isn’t an influx of individuals or businesses coming into California. California is also losing people and business to Arizona, Nevada and a few southern states…

The smart people are moving from California to Texas. Liberals expect people to stay.

That slush fund that Sargent is referring to the fact that Rick Perry is a crony capitalist who oversees a fund set up which gives tax-free give-aways to businesses like refineries and chemical plants to move to Texas and promises them low-interest loans and zero real estate taxes which then “causes” the State and local school districts to cut education funding because they don’t have money because – well they don’t receive the necessary taxes. Of course Perry cares so much about the children that only 25% of them live in poverty.
Perry also claims he hates Big Gummit stimulus spending and yet to plug the huge budget deficit caused by GOP policies, Perry took billions of Federal dollars. He also doesn’t like the fact that the EPA has ‘standards’ like clean air and water. But you know…maybe people like living the most polluting state in the union.
Perry’s “job” growth isn’t net job growth but promotes a race to the bottom for corporations to move to a state that no regulations or considered the well-being of it’s lowly constituents. Is it any wonder TX leads in poverty and sub-standard healthcare access and low-paying, dead-end jobs?
Republicans, Texas and the rest of the Southern states simply act as the vampires of America sucking the life-force of progressive 21st Century thinking and knuckle drag us down into a third-world banana republic.

Texas has a very unremarkable landscape, but it is pro-business, and blue states should take notice.

i’ve lived in several states including texas and california. there is NO comparison! texas is one of the most backward states when it comes to education, science and true progress. it is way ahead at lining the pockets of the cronies in the petrochemical industries. when i left texas, i felt like i was escaping!
austin is the only bright spot in texas. i’m all for letting texas secede and take a couple of other states with it!
p.s. when i was there last year, there was a hunting contest for wild pig. the competitors were placed in categories by age. there was actually a category for 7-9 year old hunters. just what i want- an armed 7-year old prowling around looking for something to shoot!
