Tired of "politically correct?" Want an editorial cartoon that is quick to call out the bumblings of U.S. politics and cuts slack to no one? Pulitzer-Prize winner Ben Sargent is paying attention and making Washington have second thoughts about that little thing called the First Amendment.

Note the part of the body being scanned!

That’s right boyos! Sargent is saying it. The gun culture is the phallus culture.

The reason why some want to restrict guns in this country is because it is easier to do that then look at the evil in our culture.
Gun deaths have been dropping for years in this country and a vast majority of where gun deaths do occur is in so called Gun Free Zones. Virgina Tech, Columbine, Newtown, and Aurora Colorado.
I know it is harder but lets look at the cause of the problem not the guns. Remember when one of these things happen there is always calls for Gun Control. Lets think with a clear head before we start taking away people’s rights.
Take the assault rifles and you still have gangs with them and other criminals. The man who killed those kids on that island in Norway was in a gun free country and looked how that turned out.
Reuters has put together a time line of the worst shootings in the world over the past 25 years. Only five now six occurred in the United States while nine has occurred in Europe that is a lot more fair then comparing the United States with smaller nations like Germany or Great Britian. Sorry guys we are just not as bad as some people like to make it sound.
The comparison above that the United States is chocked full of guns is wrong. If you don’t want one fine but don’t take my right.

First: By my count, 12 of the last 20 (70%) were in the US. Given that Europe has more than twice our population (700 million plus), that means our death rate per capita is more than twice Europe’s. Yes, we ARE that bad. Even by your numbers, you missed the population difference.

So. It’s about “the evil in our culture,” eh? Mind explaining how to stop that? And why is our culture more than twice as evil as Europe?
NO ONE IS TAKING AWAY YOUR RIGHTS. What some of us would like to do is to introduce some common-sense laws.
The NRA has enabled laws to get passed that even most NRA members disagree with! For example, the NRA managed to stop a law that would have banned anyone on a terror watch list from buying guns. WTF? While there are FBI checks, the NRA managed to get through a law that requires the FBI to destroy those checks within 24 hours.

jack75287’s comment:
“Only five now six occurred in the United States”
his use of the word ‘ONLY’ really says it all about the mindset of these people.
Only 27 extermindated last week.
Only ## exterminated at a movie last month.
OH! and Gabby Giffords didn’t die at all! (isn’t that wonderful!!)
Well, since there’s no problem, i guess nothing needs to be done. Maybe Jack, next time it will hit closer to YOUR home.

The real problem is not guns, but who has them. Congress finds it easier to mouth about gun control than to create and fund a program for treatment of the mentally ill. This started under Reagan, whose solution was to save money by just dumping the mentally ill into the community. We live today with the consequences of that callous decision.

@motivemagus
Sorry forgot to post my link:

Please show your own numbers.
Sorry your wrong, Europe divides Crime and what they call Social Unrest in to two different categories. We do not, so all those riots a few years ago where they blew up cars in France not counted along with the dead and injured. A Muslim man rapes a Jewish girl not counted.

As for stopping evil, I never said stop, we can only discourage it by working with people and communities something that has been very effective because gun deaths are down by half. I have not seen your list of Gun attacks but I know all occurred except for Gabby Gifford in Gun Free Zones.
Common sense is letting the private citizen get a permit and then he can decide if he wants to carry a gun because the common man with a concealed carry permit has a lower arrest record then Police Officers. Its true, listen to today’s pod cast of the Bill Bennett show.
Also despite the higher crime rate forty percent off all robberies occur in England when some one is home only 13% in the United States. Why because the robbers are afraid they will get shot in the United States.
Also the worst school killing in this country did not happen in the last 70 years but in the 1920s with no gun used at all.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bath_School_disaster
And the worst of all was the one in tiny Norway.

@dannysixpack
Sorry I never said Gabby Gifford died in the first place nor did I mention her till after your post here. You must have read one of my other posts but I never said she died in those either so please read before you criticize me.
Next I would never say only 27 exterminated(not extermindated) and I never said “nothing needs to be done”.
Next time why don’t you stick to some facts and better spelling and you might be alright.

@Dredpiraterobt$
I guess it IS cheaper for guys with perceived “Shortcomings” to buy a bigger gun, with more and faster firepower, then buying a huge jacked up pickup, or a Porsche, or finding a competent Plastic Surgeon…
Dredpiraterobt$ said, 5 months ago
@masterskrain
I like you a lot better when you’re real and not spamming!
.
The thing about that is that “size doesn’t matter” in that if you are secure person with a John Willi it doesn’t matter. If you are an insecure person with a Johnson Williams there’s never enough.
.
BTW, plastic surgeon? They can do that?
jack75287 said, 5 months ago
@spyderred
That started a few years before Reagan it may have finished with him but you can not give anywhere near all the blame.
dannysixpack said, 5 months ago
@jack, i never said you said gabby giffords died. I was being sarcastic. the sarcasm was that you don’t need to COUNT gabby giffords in your numbers because she didn’t die. THEREFORE there was no problem with what happened to her (probably because it’s ok to shoot democrats)<<sarcasm. sorry for the spelling errors, but what’s a spelling error when you people count a man with a knife in china with the same kind of deadliness as a boy with an assault weapon in conneticut?
Harry Neuman said, 5 months ago
@jack75287
The obvious answer here is then … kill off ALL the people… after all guns don’t kill people, people kill people… Perfect sense … So you’re saying, the kid in Newtown could have cut his way into the school and knifed, several limes mind you, all those people in under 5 minutes even if he just had a knife. Right?

And 1 nutcase in Iran with a nuke can kill tens of thousands.

Not one liberal sheeple was worried when our illustrious WACO killers bought 1000s of rounds of ammo recently. Liberals TRUST their government when other liberals are in power.
