Must be a threat. He is picking on him. I wonder how much Obama’s paying him to write and sketch these ‘cartoons’?

It’s funny how a number of the things that get Republicans exercised came from Teddy Roosevelt, a Republican president.

It’s funny how Perry is now going around disavowing things he just published in his book (held by the bomb squad) last year.

Being a leftist toonist has to be such a rewarding job. Palin, Bachmann, O’Donnell, Perry – they just keep coming, one unqualified nut after another seeking high office. Makes you look forward to the next one.

Remember – anyone who wonders why Sargent is so hard on Perry need only look and see that his cartoons appear originally in an Austin paper.
He’s been observing Governor Goodhair from close at hand for ten years..
    Lord, i miss Molly Ivins…

    It’s like this….

According to right-wing logic, every time the libs criticize one of their heroes, it supposedly proves we’re afraid of them—coz they’re a shoo-in to take the White House in 2012 ( "Your worst nightmare "seems to be an especially popular phrase. )

Okay….except the righties have have been bashing Obama to the twentieth power, ever since he took office. He’s had more dirt dumped on him by the right than all the Repub candidates together have gotten from the left.

    Therefore…by that SAME logic…..

    You get the idea.

I just read that WP article you linked. Whoa, if torturing explanations was banned under international law, Rick Perry would be halfway to The Hague right now.

It turns out that back in 1995, Perry had between $5,000 and $10,000 of stock in the company Movie Gallery, a since-failed competitor to the failing video-rental store Blockbuster. But Movie Gallery’s strength at the time was that they had an adult section, complete with all sorts of hilarious XXX titles, much to the dismay of the American Family Association, which called for a nationwide boycott of the company’s stores. The AFA, of course, also co-sponsored Perry’s prayer party just two weeks ago.

Perry wants to take us back to the ’50’s—the EIGHTEEN 50’s. : – )

Ken Kesey would have had a hard time dreaming up the Republican list of candidates to populate “the Nest”. No matter how many times they shoot themselves in the foot, their supporters keep buying them prostheses.

just remember folks, the reason obama won was that a republican majority stayed home and didnt vote due to a lack of an “electable” candidate. nothing like party consistency. looks like fo’ mo’ fo’ bho. heh.

The moron who wrote about “succeeding” from the union is a typical Sargent fan. Then, Molly Ivins, the left-wing yahoo who to her dying day couldn’t believe that Alger Hiss was guilty. Oh yeah, there’s a lot of brain (medulla oblongata) power among the Sargent -Obama admirers.

As a Texan, I revere the memory of Molly Ivins and cherish the work of Ben Sargent, who has been lampooning pompous blowhards of every political stripe in the Lone Star state long before Slick Rick hitched his opportunistic wagon to the ascendant GOP lunatic wing. I just pray that other Americans will remember that Texas, although guilty of nurturing the likes of Tom DeLay, Dick Armey and Rick Perry, also brought us Barbara Jordan, Ann Richards, Jim Hightower and Bill Moyers!

How did Obama get elected you ask. What’s complicated about that – he got more votes than all the others after a tough vetting.
How good is Perry’s state record? I don’t know, but a lot of Texans don’t seem impressed. See Chuck Norton above.

Sorry, but I can’t agree with your last post. It wasn’t just liberals who voted for Obama to prove they weren’t racist. Although I didn’t vote for him I did have tears of pride that this Country had elected a black man. If he wins again I’ll again have tears. Not of pride, but that Americans can be that stupid. But I’m not that concerned at the moment because I don’t think we are. I predict Obama will suffer a Carter-like defeat. (Followed by race riots the likes of which we’ve never seen.)
