Tired of "politically correct?" Want an editorial cartoon that is quick to call out the bumblings of U.S. politics and cuts slack to no one? Pulitzer-Prize winner Ben Sargent is paying attention and making Washington have second thoughts about that little thing called the First Amendment.

There is no hell, heaven, god or devil. All make-believe like Santa Claus and the easter bunny.

Clark Kent—–You got most of it right.

Au contraire, Clark of Kent:
“God” and the “Devil” are surely in on it together:
“Santa Claus” and the “Easter Bunny” are among the most effective of their hand-basket full of unholy spawn, no?
“Hell” is, truly, here on Earth.
and
“Heaven,” fundamentally, is but a vacuous concept; heavily employed by the venal elite towards the gluttonous consummation of their own self-serving, vile and misanthropic interests.

Clark, from one doubter to another, may I reccommend a book? It’s titled “The Ignorance of Certainty”.

Or to put it another way, militant atheists have just as much faith as evangelicals…
eepatte said, about 2 years ago
@metm: Sometimes true, BUT militant atheists have some logic, reason and evidence on their side.

Oh, he’ll have plenty of company; it’s heaven that is becoming a real “ghost” town.

I know, I know leave it to the lefty to drag Bush into it… Guilty.
But I’m talking about the poppa! I was doing some guilt diversion the other night, trying to get some sleep by convincing myself I’m not the worst guy in the world and I was thinking about George H Bush, and about how many people have died as a result of him (and I’m just talking about the ones we know about! Forget trying to include the ones he was party to as CIA ist)
Alright, we all know that Prescott was supplying arms to the Nazis. but we can’t blame that on GHB. And any that he killed in WWII are passed over because, after all he was a cog in the wheel of war.
But let’s make sure that the ones that were from the time he took office on stay on his hands. First there was the arming of Saddam, and the simultaneous arming of Iran granted, Iraq invaded Iran in September of 1980, so Bush wasn’t in office at the time (although he was active in the region) Between 800,000 and 1.3 million people perished directly, a trillion dollars up in smoke. How many does Bush get on his resume? 10% was he 10% responsible for continuing that war? Yeah, at least. (that’s 80 to 130 thousand people, dead thanks to Bush)
Then we have Grenada… 19 Americans, 45 Grenadians and 25 Cubans Round it off to 90. GH was Veep so we’ll give him 18% to keep it an even ish number… 16
Panama Call it 250 soldiers and somewhere between 250 and 4,000 civilians (U.N. counts it at 2,500)
Iraq-Kuwait 200 Kuwaitis (Yeah, Bush gave Saddam the nod to go ahead and do it)
Desert Storm between 25,000 and 125,000 (depending on how you want to count and the number could be much higher if you include the deaths in the years after).
Can we find justification to add to these numbers? Yes we can. Can we blame him for every death? Not we can’t (but God can! There’s nothing God can’t do, right?).Indeed 70,000 go on his card from Iraq II (W’s WW).
Mohomar is a pimple on the world’s butt, and Bush is a Boil. God and the Devil don’t care about your politics, “Thou Shalt not Kill” means “Thou Shalt not Kill”! When you kill it is because you are willing to give up your immortal soul in defense of your ideals. So before you go doing that, you’d better be “Damned” sure! (Because that’s what that means!)

Reasons= Whatever you had for supper that night, don’t eat it again. However, I think the cartoon is great. Could have had some other deceased villains hovering as awaiting demons in the background. On the other hand, I don’t really believe in the devil or hell, so please posters don’t tell me I’m an idiot. I just like this cartoon!

^ Good advice!
But come on, you gotta like the “better be ‘Damned’ sure” line!

The Almighty Cerberus says;
GET YOUR BUTT HERE, GHADAFFI! WE ARE WAITING FOR YOU.
Atheists have some points but most atheists are for the wrong reasons; because they had hard things in their lives (those things were really tough and awful, but that’s no reaason to act like they are the only one who ever suffered!) or use it to give themselves a sense of superiority that reminds me of religious zealots! Atheists say they have rational arguments. You think the dumbest and most stubborn religious zealots didn’t think they have rationnal arguments, too?
If it is war and injustice you want to get rid of, well those things happen both in atheist and religious society. Religion is just a pretext for the expression of fear and hatred, things deep within human nature. Take away religion, people will fight about something else.

So…you’re saying that you’ve done something short of killing 70,000 people and just might be the worst person in the world, but you’ve convinced yourself that George Bush has killed 70,000 so that makes him the worst person in the world and you’re glad that you don’t think you’re the worst person in the world anymore? That’s messed up…in so many ways.
ReasonsVentriloquist said, about 2 years ago
Of course it is. It’s so messed up that it is an obvious rhetorical device to introduce the line of reasoning.
