Tired of "politically correct?" Want an editorial cartoon that is quick to call out the bumblings of U.S. politics and cuts slack to no one? Pulitzer-Prize winner Ben Sargent is paying attention and making Washington have second thoughts about that little thing called the First Amendment.

And even better, the less educated they are, the more likely they are to vote for Perry. You essentially have two levels of education in Texas - private ($20k per year on up) or public. The wealthy get educated and move on, the rest of us are responsible for educating our kids (after working 10-12 hour days). Welcome to Texas!

Texas, the shining star for the nation. Inspiration, at least, for the Wisconsin Republican legislature. Less money for education = more money for big biz— in the short run—to the bottom. Then we’ll have some real trickle down, that being the GOP and their corporate sponsors pissing on the work force, union or not.

Only two states turned down federal aid to education this year. Texas and Alaska. ‘Nuff said.

You couple this with the recent attempt to re-write school History textbooks in TX, and it gets even worse.

…as if Texas ever had a single over educated person come out of its schools. They have been vying with Mississippi for the bottom rung for decades.

Unfortunately, in this country anything over a 9th grade education is considered “overeducated”.

Remember how, under Reagan, the peasants - sorry, populace was told to lower expectations. Soon it will reach the point where the populace can’t spell expectations, so the word will disappear. Taking the mid-east’s despots as examples, the elephants have found that an ignorant, impoverished population is easier to control, and doesn’t complain about being milked.

Public education is public education no matter which states it’s in. I attended public schools in Texas and the entire time, I thought of too many of my teachers, “What the hell is wrong with you???” I was a B student. Then I graduated and went to college, which I paid for and was taught by teachers who actually had reason to care about educating and was a straight A student. I actually learned me a thing er two in college. In summary, the point of public school is just to survive and be outsmart your teachers. It’s college, where you’re really going to learn anything.
