Interesting that both left AND right are already complaining about not reversing course after a 25 year trip down the wrong road.

Actually he is very and throughly GROUNDED. Needs a daddy figure, of which I see none in the GOP right now. Maybe Hucklebees’ radio show will build a base.

I don’t know - Huckabee’s kind of a scary guy when you get past the charm and jokes and into his actual beliefs.

O. hasn’t even started to reverse course, except for trying to kill more babies and to put racists on the federal bench. We’re almost as deep in Iraq as before and deeper in Afghanistan and otherwise dedicated to making America the world’s policeman. And, a positive mania for borrowing our way to prosperity. Predictably, Sargent and his admirers are into childish alibis, claiming that Republicans somehow made it impossible for O. to begin the Change he promised. In a way, it’s fun to witness this pathetic flim-flam.

One thing you’re wrong on, johnking is O stand on abortion. The law he voted against did not have a provision for saving the life of the mother. He wants to use sex education to lower need for abortions. Also why is it almost always MEN who are against abortion. Most would have a different view if they had to get pregnant. I guess you believe 9 or 10 year olds who get pregnant by incest, or girls who get raped should be forced to carry a pregnancy to term even tho giving birth is MORE dangerous than early 1st trimester abortion. Never mind the psychological damage. Also some late term ones were when the fetus/baby was already dead and the women didn’t want to carry a dead baby for another 10 or 12 weeks. And I am 72, with a grandmother and great grandmother who were midwives and I lived through the time abortion was illegal. There were many, many women who died or were damaged by back alley doctors or doing it to themselves because they were so desperate altho if you were rich or had a dr in the family you could get a safe one. I personally knew two girls who died from illegal abortions. It was never done lightly. I can tell you lots of horror stories - even when women were told it would be life threatening to have another baby do you think most husbands gave up sex??? Not all - they just let the wife die and married someone else. If you don’t want or believe in abortion - great you’re not forced to have one BUT just like fundamental christians you want to force YOUR beliefs on everyone.
That’s almost funny = accusing a black (actually bi-racial) man of trying to put a racist on supreme court. They can’t get her on her credentials so they go on her race.

johnking - Look at the cartoon. Sargeant isn’t claiming any such thing. Obama has already cleaned a path into the room. The Republicans are complaining that he hasn’t fixed their 30-years-in-the-making pigsty yet. If you can point to a single way they’ve taken responsibility for the crater they put the nation in, I’d love to hear it.

Yeah we have really been heading down this road for a couple of decades. Decisions made by these Presidents, including the current one is not helping things any.
The time to “Blame Bush” is coming to an end quickly. Pretty soon Obama will be answering as to why we are still where we are.
It’s a cute political tactic to blame economic destruction that was decades in the making on the previous President. The Press even buys this for a short time. Reality will eventually shine the light on what happened in the past to cause this and what is still happening now to keep it that way.
johnking said, 4 months ago
Democrats like Dodd and Frank helped put us in this hole, along with other Dems in Congress who were just as eager as Repubs to spend big bucks on moronic stunts like the ethanol mandate and other pork. Sargent can draw a “path” into the room, but that doesn’t have any basis in reality.
Neither has the claim that few women are pro-life and the fable that late-term abortions are sometimes done to evacuate a dead fetus. In the latter case, no abortion is possible, by definition. And,the old b.s. about the marvels of sex education, whereby the unbelievably ignorant are taught how babies are made and how a condom works, info heretofore limited to gyncologists.
Dumb, dumb, DUMB!

Don’t gimme that kingboy. This is what you say AFTER the fact….but where were you and the rest of the far right crowd when all this was going on?
Cheering the ‘roaring’ Bush economy and calling anyone trying to sound a warning a doomsayer, that’s where you were.
And that lie about Frank and Dodd has long since been debunked.
hlp54 said, 4 months ago
As for sex education why do you think European countries ie: Sweden, Denmark, Finland have such low teenage birthrates. And the evacuation of a fetus, even a dead one weeks before a natural birth IS abortion. In fact the term for a “normal” miscarriage IS abortion in medical terms.
As for the rest of the problems this country has - it took many, many years to get here and won’t be solved in one or two terms, but will be very, hard with the republicans saying no to everything like a 2 year old having a tantrum.

“Stop cleaning my room, ma, or I’ll filibuster you out of here!”
johnking said, 4 months ago
Well, Jester, conservatives in Congress did often defy Bush and his “moderates,” and almost sank that prescription-drug bill, with very few Dems helping them. And plenty of conservatives outside Congress complained to beat hell about deficits. No, Frank’s and Dodd’s remarks are well documented.
As for Henrie, the Scandanavians have less of an underclass. Anyway, you don’t say they have low abortion rates. As a retired MD, I hardly need to be told that a miscarriage is a spontaneous abortion, which has exactly nothing to do with induced abortions. One can evacuate but NOT abort a dead fetus and could do so with complete freedom before Roe vs Wade.
Then, like your companion Krenliigh in fantasyland, you want us to believe that a badly outnumbered minority in Congress can filibuster or otherwise block anything. After the deluge, the Dems will be able to run but not hide.

Sargent has created quite a compelling image of the GOP mess left for Obama to clean up, and quite an accurate image of the GOP criticism too
the ‘funt seems to be fiddling with his blackberry or phone or video game … a fairly accurate depiction of the GOP’s contribution to date

“The time to “Blame Bush” is coming to an end quickly. Pretty soon Obama will be answering as to why we are still where we are.”
Funny, I remember people blaming Clinton a whoooole lot longer than half a year or so within Bush’s term. He didn’t even leave such a mess behind, now that I come to think of it.
Sure, at least some of the mess was made by that donkey pal of the elephant, but if people expect it to be fixed by the end of this year bridge salesmen will be having a good time.
