I wonder if it is just too complicated for some people to understand this concept.
Fairportfan said, 7 months ago
No, it’s quite easy for them to understand.
What they have difficulty accepting is that they, personally, are not going to be the top dogs they believe they naturally would be in an anarchy.

Who says there’s anything civilized about Cheney, Bush, or their ill-read supporters?

Being of the conservative bent, it appalls me that the libocrats think only the “lower classes” who pay little tax are the only ones who are upset and protesting. Due to interest income last year my refund was ½ of 2007. I’m glad I got off so easy.
attyush said, 7 months ago
I want that. I want a civilized society. I don’t give my kid more pocket money because they whiled it away. So I have a problem giving the government more money when they have no clue what to do with it. Throwing money at the executive branch will never bring fiscal responsibility.
churchillwasright said, 7 months ago
You can’t explanin that to libs, they’ll continue to insist we want to pay NO taxes.

So, the phony accounting of the Cheney/Bush years was okay with the so called conservatives? We only know something about what is spent under President Obama because he is starting to open up the books. The cash is needed by the Executive Branch because fast action was needed, since the previous administration wouldn’t take responsibility for oversight.
attyush said, 7 months ago
LLeRay:
What phony accounting? And who in this forum has said that Bush was fiscally responsible? For heaven’s sake don’t make up your own arguments for your convenience. Just because Bush was a spendthrift doesn’t give Obama the authority to go ahead and trump it.

OLDGOAT,what appalls me is that you, and people like you, didn’t have the guts to speak out until bush left.
Or are you trying to say that Obama had something to do with this years taxes ? Cause a smart man like you wouldn’t blame obama for bushs’ taxes you just paid. Obamas’ taxes you’ll be paying NEXT YEAR, he’s only been in office for 100 day’s. stupid. So LIB. that where the sun dont shine. bitter, bitter, bitter, aint that a shame. All you people, hate, hate, hate. how sick, how sad.
attyush said, 7 months ago
senorbullwinkle just showed us how to behave without bitterness.
cdward said, 7 months ago
attyush, perhaps many get the idea that conservatives were happy with Bush’s profligate spending because there was never a word of complaint. No tea parties on all those eight years. And no sense of appreciation that the present course of action is meant to deal with the mess that at least in part is due to the actions of the previous administration.
Now, we can argue about the stimulus, but as I’ve said before, there are many renowned economists who think its only problem is that it’s not big enough.

SORRY,”LIBOCRATS”. OldGonad swings that lib word around like a club. And also too, He’s the one who said “APPALLS ME”. Yes it mAkEs mE AngRy, how unfair these double minded repubic’s are. Their the first to blame Barack,& the first to forget georges’ deed’s. Mostly because he’s BLACK. they have called him every thing but a mudflap. And if I spit fire at these bigot’s, well, so be it.
My apologies to SOOKY.

Think of what we get for our taxes; clean water, safe food to eat, a mostly peaceful environment in which to live, public school for our kids, good highways, public transportation, increased choices to do what we please.

ZAN, That’s not what the repubic’s want! They want the BLACK MUSLIM AFRICAN, to fail, no matter the cost. An attack on our soil, and a colapse of the economy would make them more than happy.
I could say so much more, but I’m not alowed to say so here.

OLDGONAD, It’s comes as no surprise to me. Only 7 years and 10 months to go, I can only imagine what you’ll be calling him then. Your racism shows, although you try to hide it here, but I can only imagine what you say among your friends and family. But I cant tell you what I think of you here.

TUSH, so I’ll ask you the same question they asked Susan Boyal, Why hasn’t it happen yet! But you keep trying, and one day you’ll see it my way, and people will listen and love you as much as they do ME!

I’m getting a bit sick of all these editorials making the Tea Parties look like scummy astroturf. And practically all the time everyone misses the point of the Tea Parties, they aren’t about taxes, they are about debt, bloated government, and irresponsible spending. Taxed Enough Already is just a convenient acronym.

WELL, JEHAdi, why dont you tell fox news your problem, their the one’s who staged this thing! With their tea bag’s and their T.E.A.
Either way it still sucked, it was a Flop. Quit your crying, your not chinese, are ya ? Now they got something to cry about.
why are you crying now? We’re spending 10 BILLION a month in Iraq right now, but that was OK just 4 months ago. george ran this country into the dirt, Where was your F ing tea potty then? And now you think you got a black man to take the blame. So you make over 250,000thousand, Boo Hoo.

TUSH, Why dont you take some of that generosity and give it to a good and honest man. An unselfish individual who has taken on a difficult job for us, and could use your support. Instead of your trash talking from the cheap seats.

senorbull:
Just did that too. When it comes to pulling my weight, I do my share and some more. Not only do I pay my taxes, I also involve myself significantly in community activities. So why don’t you stop yapping about things you have no clue about.
Okay, here’s a challenge. I have a feeling that most of your sentiments come from liberal op-eds. Instead, for a change, take a look at the budget line items (proposed for 2010) and we can discuss some of the wastage that is part of the budget. How about that? Instead of rhetorics, we can actually have an interesting and factual discussion.

Yes, insults are such good debate maneuvers. I am not happy with the Iraq war, and I’m not happy with Bush.
But you’re wondering why we didn’t have Tea Parties when Bush was president? Because with Bush’s actions combined with Obama’s actions, people were starting to see the government wasn’t changing, and that they needed to
make their voices heard themselves. Obama being black doesn’t matter to me, his actions matter.

People are not upset paying taxes when they go to worthy causes. People are upset because the current government is ignoring the masses and spending our money on whatever they want. It was recorded that 9 out of every 10 phone calls to political offices and letters have been in references to not giving bailouts to banks yet they still did it. That is the problem our representitives are not longer representing the people but are blindly following the lobbyist.

waitliftin- Obama got elected in order to get the lobbyists off the backs of the citizens, but it takes awhile to accomplish this. In the meantime, I am paying about $38 less in Fed taxes each month from my pension.
waitliftin said, 7 months ago
My comment has nothing to do with Obama or Bush because in all actuality presidents have very little power; it is congress that taxes us to death.
The voters thought that a republican congress was taxing them to death so they made a change and voted in a democratic congress that is still taxing us to death. People did not want to see their tax money go to the bailouts and contacted their representatives in record numbers only to be ignored.
Then Obama promised no more pork in spending bills but when the budget went through he simply blamed it on the last administration and passed it through even though it was mostly the democratic congress that put all the earmarks in.
We have no more options republicans were not helping us and now the democrats are screwing us over. The tea parties represent an effort to try and take back our out of control government. The tea parties were not meant to be partisan but that idea quickly faded, unfortunately.
