    The robins have been around here for a few weeks…but it is snowing again.

    Being in the south, we’re used to snowbirds.

    It’s snowing in Baltimore, too. Three days if mid050s, and then four inches of snow.

    Saw the first robin about 3 weeks ago. DC area. It was about 22 deg. and he could hardly move.

    And you guys just got more snow, which is late for you (I’m a DC native, but live in the South now). Did you at least offer it some hot tea? ;-)

    Some of our robins here in Manassas, Virginia, never left this winter. Boy, were they sorry! At least 5 inches of that nasty white stuff on the ground right now, and it’s still “flurrying”.

    @GSJ Olé

    We are about 15 min north of you (as a robin flies) and we have at least 8 inches.
    Since they are not seed eaters, I wonder what the robins have been surviving on around here this winter.

    From what I’ve read they eat fruit, berries, caterpillars, beetles, and earthworms. They don’t always migrate either. There are some robins in the New England area that spend the winter there.

    As my medieval name, I chose Fair Weather (Beatrice Fayrewether) because I avoid extremes in weather.

    You’re right! In RI on the Mass line, I have seen some here since January.

    It’s so frozen in Michigan it’s breaking records. But tomorrow should be relatively warm.

    I saw my first robin late last week – singing so loud. I had to stop and listen.
