    Why is that such a difficult question? What first laid the egg was not a chicken. The chicken was either a mutation or a result of cross breeding.

    It’s Schroedinger’s poultry. Until you look inside the box, it can contain both a chicken and a half-dozen eggs.

    @Ryan (Say what now‽)

    Thanks. I’ve been saying that for years, but for some reason no one seems to care, even though the question keeps getting asked.

    The chicken IS the egg.

    You beat me to it. The first thing that came to mind when I saw the strip was Schroedinger’s chicken.

    The question was answered more than a hundred fifty years ago yet some stubborn or adamantly ignorant people can’t seem to get beyond a fairy tale.

    i love comics Beardo. I am fussy… they have to be well drawn as well as clever and entertaining. i am old enough to remember seeing the first black and white superman comic about 70 years ago and loving it. This is the first new comic in years that has achieved my rather fussy standards of good artistry and clever writing. Well done, and keep it up.

    ^ I agree with the above commenter and would like to respectfully suggest you revisit that interesting young women from a few days ago that was hysterical from a gender attraction identity crisis. It would be great if there were a storyline where she meets a certain someone that introduces her to a lifestyle that calms her down. Something like that would be instructive.

    The electrical shock, that one time, didn’t do it for you?
