    It’s more unsettling when you know it’s around but you don’t know where it is.

    Yeah – what if your mouth is open when you’re asleep, and it negotiates the drool and crawls in . . .

    I once had an extremely large arachnid crawl over me while I was nearly asleep. It made it to the edge of the bed before it was forced to become two dimensional with the aid of my shoe.

    It was glowing. Contrary to popular fiction, glowing spiders are more likely to cause radiation poisoning than amazing and spectacular talents.

    @Coyoty

    I wonder what type of super character would result from being bitten by a radioactive madman.

    I hope this doesn’t mean Beardo was off because of a spider bite!

    unless it was a radioactive spider.

    Here’s a great National Geographic video of the Goliath Bird Spider (largest spider in the world) catching a mouse:

    @Alec M.

    I don’t know what he was cooking yesterday but it must have been enticing to spiders.
    @markjoseph125 – I’m not EVEN going to watch that video!!!

    Spiders are fine…as long as they are outside

    At our house, we catch the spiders in a jar and then release them back outside. We are TOO BIG for them to eat or even try to “bite,” but we know they can fulfill their predatory role on the creepies outside. Too bad they wander into the house, so we do them the courtesy of showing them back to their more suitable environment. Except for the invasive species whose venom is especially nasty to everyone— such as the brown recluse and hobo spiders…them, we eliminate.
