That Nighthawks one, there is a parking garage in West Los Angeles with a mural of it, with Bogart, Elvis, Marilyn Monroe, etc in it.

Enjoyed seeing the Nighthawks painting reference. Are you in or from Chicagogo?

if you like ‘Nighthawks’ search the artist Edward Hopper — his work is remarkable — brilliant use of light and geometry

There was a experiment involving several paintings, Nighthawks being one of them. A key aspect removed from the painting. The result is that it changed the whole meaning. What comes to mind when you see the diner without the forlorn patrons?

There’s all different types of art. I like the stuff that “takes me somewhere” too.

Variations of the “American Gothic” portrait has turned up just like Munch’s “The Scream.” Some of them even animated.

“Nighthawks” has always been one of my favorite paintings. As a fan of the past, I always found Hopper’s paintings very evocative of that period (tho’ to him they were very contemporary images).
