    I could never understand how our pets could snooze in direct sunlight.
    In Edmonton, the longest daylight is just over 17 hours, not including twilight.

    Pets have hair on their eyelids, so I assume it blocks the sunlight.

    If we do that to our cats, they crawl into the curtains and still enjoy the sun
