Of course, if CDs weren’t so stupidly expensive to begin with . . .

I use a microwave to burn music… so far I have destroyed nine copies of Mariah Carey’s Daydream… and burned down two homes…

Some music deserves to be burned. Not copied, but actually burned. Fire and all.

If your fans won’t pay for your music, don’t blame piracy, blame the music

Unfortunately, many people aren’t altruistic enough to want to pay for their favorite band’s album.

I’m confused on that one. If the music sucks, why would it be pirated anyway?

We couldn’t hope to be THAT good, we’re more like Russell Crowe’s band, or Steven Seagal.
(By the way, I take some strange satisfaction in being compared to Kevin Costner and Gary Sinise. I feel like my magic legs are dancing with wolves!)

I’ve seen a lot of the smaller band on the way up, Scars on 45 comes to mind that sell their CD’s at their shows for right around $10-15, which is about right for most folks to pop. I remember an interview with the Gourds where they spoke of controlling the entire supply chain themselves.
And finally when the whole nappster trial was going on in discovery they found out that most of the people posting on line owned more music then those who didn’t

And if they didn’t contain one good song and 12 fillers……….

Perhaps they wouldn’t be so expensive, if people bought them, rather than just ripping off the music.

There are all sorts of ways to rationalize theft. If the music isn’t good, why are these thieving fans spending their time listening to it?
