@ dzw3030 (from Monday and yesterday)

I did make it to Chapters; I found the latest versions of three well known cookbooks.
    Here they are:

”Joy of Cooking”    ($35 U.S./39.99 Can)

    ”Illustrated Quick Cook”     ($35 U.S./40 Can) (

    ”The Good Housekeeping Cookbook…” ($35 U.S./42 Can)

I chose to recommend these to you, as opposed to any specific “cooking for one” book for two reasons….

One: They’re all written to teach you how to cook the dish in question and not to impress you with how much the author knows about how to cook the dish in question and….

Two: “Cooking for one” cookbooks are, in my opinion, completely unnecessary. Just make the dish as written, divide it into the portions it serves, and either store in the fridge until the next corresponding mealtime(s), or in the freezer so you’ve got some meals ahead….
Or, as you’ll very rapidly learn how to do, cut any dish’s ingredients into “serves one” measurements.

I did buy “Never Go Back” by Lee Child; it was on sale at 40% off.

Isn’t he repeating himself by saying the same thing over and over?

. . . and it seems as if the government is following a tradition millions of years old!

Concerning cookbooks , I have all of your recommended books, but my current go-to cookbook is America’s Test Kitchen TV Show Cookbook, 2001-2013. I prefer it because they explain why and how their recipes work.
