   I prefer the capsule-type tags (or the little coded wire tags for fish). Doesn’t impede the animal like the big, bulky tags do.

    I think it’s suggesting that he’s been mistaken for a wild animal and given a tracking tag.
    Or a corpse …and that’s a toe tag.

    If it’s a toe tag for a corpse, then it makes no sense. . . if it’s a tracking tag for a wild animal, it does. Thanks.
