My first thought on seeing the strip was that he had hit the flammable selzer again. (And old strip featured that.)

On the serious side, how do we have legitimate discussion about important issues facing our society – about which decisions have to be made – without falling into “We have to beat the other guy” mentality?

There were a LOT of references to Le Petomane in the movie, “Blazing Saddles.” Mel Brooks himself played the governor, William J. LePetomane.
Slim Pickens had a line saying, "LePetomane Thruway? Now what will that (rectum) think of next?
The town schoolmarm read a letter which called Gov. LePetomane “the leading (rectum) in the state.”

I’m going to have to watch “Blazing Saddles” again. This time I’ll get more of the jokes.

    Thanks for the information.
